Our Sister site Griff Goes Racing once again attended the Formula 1 Pre-season Testing at the Circuit de Barcelona in Spain.
Shortened to two groups of three day sessions over the month of February, it was clear that the big three teams still held the advantage going into the final season of this current technical period. AMG Mercedes still appear to have the upper hand over rivals Red Bull Racing and Ferrari, though Ferrari appear to have slipped further behind Red Bull.
Visit the Griff Goes Racing Pre-season Testing 2020 album to view the large image gallery from the event. With the Australian Grand Prix already cancelled amid the Covid-19 crisis, this may be the only look you get of the 2020 challengers in the near future.
The battle for the midfield certainly looks a little more unpredictable. Mclaren looked steady, whilst Renault F1 appear to have a great car under them, whilst Racing Point have a car uncannily similar to the Mercedes W10 from last year, that is also impressing. The newly rebranded Alpha Tauri (formally Toro Rosso) looked visually stunning, whilst also a good stable all rounder.
Haas and Alfa Romeo were also stable, and encouragingly, Williams also seemed to take a step forward following their dismal 2019 season. We can’t wait to see those wheels rolling in 2020!
